Goldenfry Foods is a British food manufacturer based in Wetherby, West Yorkshire. The company manufactures most own brand supermarket gravy products as well as many of their own food products.
The business started as a small independent fish and chip shop in Wetherby in the 1960’s. It now operates from large purpose built factory premises, employs over 100 full time employees and achieved a turnover in 2009 of over £23 million.
The production monitoring system monitors thirteen machine centres including mixers, vertical baggers, top loader, catering hand pack, gravy granule processing and packaging lines. In line with all manufacturing scenarios the system is designed to measure lost production time either planned or unplanned.
A feature of the new system includes the supply of three DTM Display Nodes pre-configured to display a range of information on large format screens in the production areas. These inform staff of key performance indicators such as current and target production rates, OEE etc.
A further feature is the SMS text messaging facility to allow the system to generate text messages for alarm notification and for the engineer call function available at each DTM02 terminal. This ensures a rapid response to problems occurring and reduces production disturbances.
